THE PROVINCIAL government has released a list of its various proposed development projects that will be funded under P2.6 billion gas revenue share from the US$4.5 billion Malampaya Natural Gas Project offshore Palawan

The proposed list of projects came out after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) issued a Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) containing P2.6 billion Malampaya fund for the province.

The issuance of the SARO was authorized by Executive Order (EO) 683 issued by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last December.

Out of P2.6 billion, P966 million will go to the provincial government; P816 million to the First Congressional District of Rep. Antonio Alvarez; P556 million to the Second Congressional District of Rep. Abraham Mitra and P270 million to the city government of Puerto Princesa under Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn.

The projects for first congressional district are the following: San Vicente Airport worth P300 million; Coron airport road and Taytay port road (P100 million); Taytay: Comalibongbong-Calawag Road (P50 million); Dumaran: concreting/improvement of Sta. Maria-Sta Teresita Road and Culion: Binudac-Malaking Patag Road (P36 million), Water System Development in Roxas (P100 million); school building project (P160 million), construction of executive-legislative building in Magsaysay (P5 million); construction of legislative building in Araceli (P7 million); rehabilitation/improvement of national roads (P30 million); concreting of San Jose-Port Barton Road (P24 million) and promotion and enhancement of SME (small and medium enterprises and livelihood resource center (P4 million).

The projects for the provincial government are; Cuyo: conreting of Bancal-Maringan Road (P11.4 million), Culion: construction of Binudac-Malaking Patag Road (P16 million), Coron: concreting of YKR airport road (P50 million); concreting of junction provincial road (P50 million); Coron Bay Reclamation Project, Phase 2 (P50 million); Coron Bay Coastal Road Project (P50 million); construction of concrete pavement (P4 million); concreting of Dinagpan-Dipulao road (P31 million); Dumaran: concreting of Sta. Maria-Sta. Teresita Road (P20 million);

Concreting of Dumaran-Araceli Road (P12 million); El Nido: rehabilitation of Bagong Bayan-Bebeladan Road (P21-million); Roxas and San Vicente: concreting of San Jose-Port Barton (P25 million); Aborlan: concreting of Plaridel-Tigman Road (P30 million); Narra: concreting of Narra Avenue (P13.7 million); Espanola: improvement of Pulot III-Tabud Road (P14.2-M); Quezon: improvement of highway junction-Tabud-Panitian Road (P10.7 million); improvement of Capitol’s legislative building (P30 million); barangay convergence program like waiting sheds and multi-purpose halls provincewide (P69 million).

For the second district, the projects to be implemented by the Department Public Works and Highways include: improvement of Palawan Circumferential Road (Rio Tuba-Sumbiling Section); improvements of Palawan Circumferential Road (Sumbiling-Puring Section); circumferential road (Puring-Buliluyan Port Section); improvement of Culandanum-Panalingaan Cross Road (Culandanum – Panalingaan Cross Road), Quezon-Punta Baja Road, Quezon-Punta Baja Road, Quezon-Punta Baja Road; Construction of Llabugan Bridge (Aramaywan-Berong PPR) in Quezon; Aramaywan-Berong Road, Quezon-Punta Baja Road; Quezon-Punta Baja Road (Intermittent Section); Quezon–Punta Baja Road; Palawan Circumferential Road (Rizal-Panalingaan Section)(intermittent Section); circumferential Road (Tagbita-Latud Section); circumferential road (Tagbita – Latud Section); Quezon-Aramaywan Road; Quezon-Puntabaja Road (Intermittent Section) and Quezon-Aramaywan Road.

Other projects are school buildings for elementary and secondary worth P74,000,000 and P26,000,000, respectively.
